Gary's Cancer Health and Welfare Journey

Hi, my name is Gary and I am fund raising to help with expenses while I am being treated for and hopeful recovery from Pancreatic Cancer. As many of you know, this last year has been rough, with the onset of cancer, the loss of an incredible amount of weight, and my livelihood as a photographer. After a long process, I was finally diagnosed with cancer, and was given 6 weeks to live by my surgeon unless immediate chemotherapy was undertaken. I started the chemotherapy treatments with the end goal of having the tumor neutralized and then undergoing an operation to remover the tumor from my pancreas and bile duct. With my operation scheduled for October 6th I applied for Disability through Social Security, as I was not old enough to apply for early retirement through them. I was notified that I was disapproved for Disability on Sep 13th, as my wages for the past year were not enough to keep my coverage active with SSI. I am looking for help to help cover my basic expenses while I prepare for the surgery, and to help span the gap that the recovery time will not allow me to work. The operation requires that I spend at least 7 days in the hospital, followed by a two to three month recovery time while the body hopefully adjusts to the changes in a positive manner.
