Garland Big Dogs special olympic team was very near and dear to Gary's heart. From the time his son Eric was old enough to play sports, he was very heavily involved with coaching kids with special needs. He was also a teacher at Naaman Forest and worked with special needs kids the majority of his tenure. The Garland Big Dogs team was his world, and he gave all he could to these guys. He treated each and every one of them as if they were his own son. As his disease progressed, it became too difficult for him to coach them anymore, and it was absolutley devastating and heart breaking for him. One wish he had was to make sure these guys could continue on with their sports as it is their world and a lot of times, they may not have the means to pay for different things that are required for competitions. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the Garland Big Dogs so that they may have the means to go to state competitions, have uniforms, pay for hotels when needed for competitions, pay for transportation & food at competitions or any other needs they may have as a team. This was Gary's heart and soul and nothing would make him prouder. He loved his boys!!
