My name is Nicole, and I am a close friend of Gary and Lisa. I am organizing this fundraiser on Gary’s behalf after a tragic motorcycle accident that took the life of his beloved wife, Lisa, and left Gary with severe injuries. Gary is currently more than 1,200 miles from home, and his family is hoping to bring him closer so he can receive specialized trauma care and be surrounded by loved ones during his recovery.

Gary sustained significant head trauma along with severe injuries to his extremities that will require multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation. Due to the severity of the damage, he is now facing the difficult possibility of amputation.

His family is hoping to bring Gary closer to home so he can be evaluated at a Level 1 trauma center, where specialists may be able to explore additional limb-saving options and provide the highest level of care.

At this time, Gary is not medically cleared for commercial air travel and will require medical transportation in order to safely transfer him closer to home for further treatment. It is currently unknown what portion of this transport or his ongoing care will be covered by insurance.

As the family navigates the unimaginable grief of losing Lisa, they are also facing overwhelming medical and logistical challenges.

A Celebration of Life for Lisa will be held at a later date to honor the incredible woman she was and the love she shared with so many.
