Gary's Cancer Fund: A Veteran's Need

Hello everyone my name is Donna and I’m reaching out on behalf of my father, Gary, who recently received devastating news.

What started as a routine CT scan for a known hernia unexpectedly revealed multiple masses on his organs. To make matters worse, the hernia is so large it can’t be fixed with mesh and now will require extensive surgery by a skilled surgeon if/when possible pending other details with the masses. His doctor strongly believes these masses are linked to his past exposure to firefighting foam as a firefighter or asbestos from his time serving in the U.S. Navy.

Gary is a proud Navy Veteran who has spent his life in service to others. Now, he faces this difficult journey on a limited fixed income from Veterans Disability, making it challenging to keep up with everyday expenses, travel to and from appointments, and any other costs not covered by the VA.

I am asking for donations to help Gary maintain stability during this uncertain time—covering essential living costs, medical needs that may not be covered by the VA, and care for PePe (his kitty) while in hospital. It will also go to any plane tickets that are needed to fly between Wisconsin and Florida for family members such as his sister, brother-in-law and of course me.
