The Burt family is respectfully asking for donations toward the unforeseen funeral costs for Gary Burt who unexpectedly passed away today, September 15, 2016.
Gary proudly grew up farming and passed on his love of the land and animals to his son and grandchildren who are still actively farming the same land Gary loved and appreciated. In addition to farming, Gary hauled livestock and enjoyed restoring John Deere tractors. He loved his family dearly and lovingly "picked on" those he cared about. Most of those who were close to Gary had creative nick names, hand picked by him.
Gary was a longtime active member of the Ohio Farmer's Union, Ohio Farm Bureau and was an FFA Alumni.
Gary is survived by his children, Kelly (Todd) Tappel of New London, Brian (Kim) Burt of New London and Tracy (Mike) Carsey of Arizona; grandchildren, Shawna (Scott) Hansen, Corey (Stacie) Tappel, Kyle, Wesley and Christian Burt, Kelby, Mikayla and Hannah Carsey; great grandchildren, Jacob and Brooklyn Hansen and Bria Tappel; siblings Larry Burt of Michigan and Lois Powers of Canada.
A visitation will be held on Monday September 19, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm at Eastman Funeral Home in New London, OH where a funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday with Pastor Timothy McCollum officiating. You all are invited to a meal at Fitchville United Methodist Church following the service. A private burial to follow in Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery.
