Gary's Campaign

Juvenile Diabetes (type 1) is a terrible diagnosis to hear. My nephew, Gary, has been struggling to manage this disease since he was 2 or 3 years old: learning new ways to eat with complicated dietary restrictions is hard for a child – as is saying no to candy and ice cream and cake. Gary has done pretty well and is now in his 50s – but the challenges continue. He’s worked until just recently – in spite of losing BOTH legs below the knee and overcoming many other serious health issues, and throughout it all, he’s always done his part to support his family of five. Gary has a fantastic attitude about everything – he’s grateful for every day and he accepts his lot in life. Now, he and his family need our help to purchase a handicapped-accessible van so that he can get out with them and be a part of the larger life that the rest of us so easily enjoy.
