Gary’s story is a true miracle of faith, love, medical expertise and luck (He came back to us on 7-11 of all days!). Gary was in a medically induced coma from July 1-11 stricken by full on attack on his life - Heat Stroke, Sepsis infection, Pneumonia, E-coli leading to heart, liver, kidney and lung failure. My family was scheduled to fly from San Diego to Milwaukee on July 3rd for our annual Summer trip. To be honest, I had deep worries about Gary’s survival.
Gary continued to improve day by day during our stay according to all the medical devices, though it wasn’t noticeable to most us who visited the hospital. It was only small signs of – a squeeze of a finger, a foot moving to the hospital music, subconscious agitation at all the tubes and machines. Eventually, Gary was being taken off life support systems with one last hurdle which was removing the ventilator on July 11th. Miraculously Gary awoke from his 11 days of “slumber” after the ventilator was removed.
Gary’s progress has been phenomenal. He is getting back to his overactive self. His fitness App recorded 6600 steps the other day! However, he is still unable to run his business. The unwavering support and love of Kris, Natalie, Nick, Family and Friends truly helped bring Gary back to us. We are asking for your support for a “Gary’s Ride”. It’s a 50 mile bike ride that Annie and I will be taking on August 25th in San Diego to show our support for Gary and his family.
Annie and I have started this “Go Fund Me” campaign to raise funds to help with medical bills and lost income that Gary and his family have incurred. Our goal is to raise $1500 to assist Gary & his family during this challenging time. Any contributions are sincerely appreciated. Thank you!
