Gary Swain fighting stage 4 Leukemia

Gary Swain is a good friend of mine. He has the biggest heart and the kindest soul of anyone I have ever met! He has been battling Leukemia for 10 yrs now. He has stayed strong and fought the fight through the worst but it has taken a  tremendous toll on his body and also his checkbook. Him and his wife Lisa, are now in desperate need of some help. He has had his own business remodeling homes and has worked up until recently. He is now too weak to work. They are both too proud to ask for help but there comes a time when you need to. This is the time. I asked Lisa to send me Gary's story in her own words. Here it is...

June 29th, 2010 Gary told me we had to finish the bathroom we were remodeling today. That night he was not feeling well so he slept in a recliner. The next morning, he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital only to find out his white blood count was 658,000. They told us he was extremely sick and had stage 4 Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. The pain he was having the night before was a uric acid kidney stone. This saved his life. Our local hospital began chemo treatments. Many things went wrong with the hospitals methods of treatment. After his body was weak and full of pain, his doctors said they could not help him and he might want a 2nd opinion due to his multiple issues.

After asking GOD for direction, we found The Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Pennsylvania. This hospital had a  team of doctors that worked together to treat the whole body. Not only did Gary have Cancer, he finds he has adrenal insufficiency requiring him to be on steroids the rest of his life.

Gray's cancer has never been in remission and he running out of treatment options. Gary was put on a PCA pump to control his pain and the long term use of pick line in his arms. It has caused so much scar tissue in his veins his doctors told him he is running out of options to control his pain. The latest obstacle in Gary's journey is out of control .  Gary has Blood Cancer and now a blood infection.

Anybody that knows us well, will say we have always been there to help others and always stayed positive even when our life is upside down. We now are at a crossroads where we are desperately in need of help.

Please donate what you can. Anything will help. Gary is spending many days/nights at the Cancer Center in Philadelphia. Lisa will not leave his side. She is forced to pay for a room while they are there. Thank you and God Bless!
