Gary Spencer Stroke Recovery Fund
Donation protected
My brother-in-law Gary Spencer has always been one of the most generous people my family has known but then 2 years ago Gary was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and had spent many days in the hospital before being put on an insulin pump. On May 29th at age 50 he suffered a stroke, leaving him partially blind in one eye, paralyzed on one side and unable to speak or think clearly. We knew he'd have a difficult road to recovery. His employer kept his health insurance active for the required 3 months but since Gary is unable to work, had to term his health plan. I was able to get Gary an individual health plan thanks to a subsidy through the marketplace. Gary has always been the primary breadwinner so the financial burden has been put on his family. They have the responsibility of caring for Gary and trying to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. Unfortunately they are on the verge of losing their home, vehicles and health insurance. It is our hope that through the donations of friends, family and caring strangers Gary will continue to get the treatments, medications, therapy and support to make ends meet and find peace and strength to see a brighter future.
