On March 2nd, 2020, Gary Nelson made his way to Heaven. His smiles, laughs and 'cacaw's will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

My uncle made life more fun for himself and others. My brothers and I were constantly engaged in shenanigans with him. From fake pidgeons to snow sculptures to stealing leftovers, every visit ended with laughter, and was followed by plotting for the next.

The first thing Gary did when entering a room was to tell everyone it was good to see them, and share his contagious smile. No matter what he had going on in his personal or professional life, he would ask about your day and listen with complete sincerity. He had a unique gift for making his loved ones feel warm and welcome, a gift we should all endeavour to emulate in his memory.

Gary has a daughter, Brooke, in California who has been struggling with a medical condition that now requires a costly procedure at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. The family is asking for donations to go to the fund that has been set up for her. This will help with costs for the surgery that won’t be covered by her insurance.
