A couple of years ago, my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma. From day one this journey has been a very long, challenging, day by day fight for my dad and our family. This battle has been filled with times of doubt, frustration, and sadness but also filled with times of hope, optimism, and faith that he will survive.
Over the last two years he has been in and out of the hospital and unfortunately about two weeks ago he was admitted once again. After many tests and a lot of uncertainty, we are still left without a confirmed diagnosis. Doctors are working hard to find the correct treatment for him. However, once we see improvement and my dad is able to come home, he will need continued in-home care to ensure a full recovery.
As I'm sure you know, in-home care is extremely expensive. With my mom and I out of work during this time, and my dad unable to work while in this condition, we have reached the point where we need to seek help from others. Anything that you are able to donate would mean the world to my family.
The support that my dad has received from all of you has given him the strength to keep fighting and I cannot thank you enough for that. He is loved by so many of you, and we see how many lives he has touched during his time on earth.
Gary Miltimore has been such an amazing husband, father, and friend. A true artist and sailor with the most caring, generous, and loving soul.
This extremely difficult journey is not over, and it is going to be a tough road to recovery, but with your help we can come together and help him survive.
