On August 25, 2022 the unthinkable happened when our good friend Gary Kacena suffered a stroke at age 57. After 30 days in the hospital he was able to come home. He has paralysis on his right side, still having brain fog and can’t use his right arm. Countless physical therapy, speech and occupational therapy appointments, follow-ups with doctors keep Pam and Gary busy. Gary has been unable to return to his job as a mechanic at Mt Vernon Rd Tire where he’s been for 20 years. Gary’s prognosis is still unclear but they are hoping for a recovery, however, he has a long road ahead. The physicians have said Gary will never work as a mechanic again. Going from two incomes to one has put a huge financial strain on the family. The Kacena family needs help with medical bills, household expenses, food and gas money. God has provided many blessings in Gary’s recovery. He has had wonderful care and support from his medical team and support from friends and family.
Many of you have asked over the months what you can do to help. Helping them financially to keep them afloat would be greatly appreciated as well as continued prayers for Gary's recovery and the family. Hug and hold your loved ones close!
