Gary is family to us. She’s not even 4 years old, and has been lucky to never experience health problems. On July 22nd her nictitating membrane stopped retracting and slowly climbing up her eye. We immediately took her to VCA emergency. They had several possible diagnosis but couldn’t be certain of what the problem was. We were sent home with a few medications, one was a steroid eye cream which we only used once. From Sunday night to Monday morning her condition got much worse. Took her to her primary vet on Tuesday. She had a different outlook from the ER vet and gave us a different set of medications to give Gary. 24 hours later the membrane had become extremely swollen and painful for her. We returned to another ER. Got steered in a third direction but this time with the advice to see an eye specialist. We made the appointment but had to beg for it to be bumped to 24 hours earlier due to her condition worsening every hour. As of 7/27 she is having surgery to remove her third eyelid.
With savings we can cover a little more than half of the cost but need a little help with the rest. Anything helps get Gary back to normal.
Much love and respect for your support.
