Gary and his motorcycle accident bills

Hello,

For those that don't know me, I'm Gary Crowl Jr.. I was involved in a motorcycle accident on September 23rd, 2022. I was hit by a person driving a full size pickup truck that wasn't paying attention and changed lanes right next to me. I don't remember what happened from the moment of impact but according to the police report I wound up in the center of the highway and my bike landed somewhere against the center barrier.

When I came too in the intensive care unit at the UCLA hospital, I was told I had a ruptured kidney, fractured vertebrae, bruised ribs, a mild concussion, sprained hand, and a couple of teeth knocked out. I spent 6 days in the ICU and was discharged to strict bed rest at home for at least 30 days pending further exams.

I'm truly lucky to be alive. The 405 freeway through Los Angeles is a dangerous stretch of road. The fact that nothing worse happened is an outright wonder of wonders.

Sadly that same luck doesn't keep the lights on or the rent paid when medical bills and life bills start piling up. The person who hit me had insurance, but it could be months if not a year before anything settles. If he only has state minimum requirements, I'm stuck paying out what my own underinsured motorist insurance doesn't cover.

As of the end of October I'm looking at a month and a half deficit in my normal pay and at least $7000 in medical bills I'm on the hook for, if or when the insurance dust settles.

I'm here asking for help when everything in my being says I shouldn't be. Reaching out to all of you on the internet for assistance is the last thing I ever wanted to have to do for any reason. But life is what life is and I simply can't keep burying my head in the sand and hoping the bad will go away all by itself.

I need financial help and whether you can or not, please know I still appreciate you.

If nothing else, just a second glance over your shoulder or into your mirrors to look for motorcyclists when you're driving would mean the world to me.
