Gary and Connie Herbst lost their home to a fire. It was not just their home, but also where they ran numerous businesses and their piece of heaven on earth. Gary and Connie are also raising their granddaughter, whom they've adopted.

Gary has spent his life in public service. He has over 30 years ion law enforcement and is still going strong. He retired from the Helena Police Department in 2023 with over 21 years of service to the citizens of Helena. He has spent 20 of his 30 years as a K-9 handler. Anyone who knows Gary knows dogs, especially German Shepards, hold a special place in his heart. Sadly, Gary and Connie also lost two of their K-9 companions to the fire.
