Help Garry Get the Physiotherapy He Desperately Needs

Donation protected

In November 2024, our dear friend Garry’s world was turned upside down in an instant.
A devastating accident left him wheelchair‑bound, forced to face a future none of us could ever imagine preparing for.
Since that day, Garry has endured multiple major surgeries to his face, neck, and spine — moving between hospitals, fighting through pain, uncertainty, and unimaginable change. One of the hardest losses came when he was forced to cancel the wedding he was meant to celebrate with his long‑term partner in 2025 — a moment they had waited so long to share.
During his year in hospital, Garry received physiotherapy and support that gave him hope. But when the hospital doors closed behind him, that support disappeared.
No ongoing physiotherapy.
No recovery plan.
No guidance on how to rebuild his life.
Suddenly, Garry was left to navigate this new reality alone.
Yet despite everything he has been through, Garry refuses to give up — and neither do we.

  • Why We’re Raising Funds
Physiotherapy is absolutely crucial for Garry’s mobility, independence, and long term health. Without regular specialist therapy, his progress has stalled, and he risks losing the physical strength and movement he worked so hard to regain in hospital.
Unfortunately, the cost of private physiotherapy sessions is far beyond what Garry can afford, and he’s been left with no other options.
This fundraiser aims to cover:
• Regular private physiotherapy sessions
• Specialist mobility-focused rehab
• Home based exercises and equipment
• Transport costs to appointments
Every contribution, no matter how small, brings Garry closer to the support he urgently needs.

  • What We’re Doing to Earn Your Support
We’re not the kind of family and friends who sit back and simply ask for donations — we want to put in the effort to truly earn your support. With that in mind, we’ve signed up for a half marathon in Kettering, Northamptonshire on 8th March 2026. We’re definitely not the fittest bunch, so this is going to be a real challenge for us. We hope that by taking on something this tough, you’ll feel encouraged to donate.

  • A Message From Those Who Love Him
Garry is one of the kindest and most determined people you could ever meet. While this accident has changed his life, he refuses to let it define who he is. Still, he can’t face this journey alone. With the right physiotherapy and support, Garry has a genuine chance to regain mobility, rebuild his independence, and reclaim the life he cherishes so deeply.
This year, Garry is about to become a grandad for the very first time. More than anything, he dreams of being present — of playing, holding, and truly sharing in his grandchild’s life. And there is another moment close to his heart: standing proudly as the woman he loves walks down the aisle, knowing he made it there through courage, determination, and the kindness of others.
