Garrick is a true hero; he is also the true definition of a family man. He's been my best mate for 20 years.

Garrick dedicates his life to helping others, and now it's our turn to give back. 2020 hasn't been an easy year for anyone in Australia, but especially for the Mackay family.

Gaz is in hospital as I write this. After arriving confused and dazed, he had a lumbar puncture and an MRI, and was diagnosed with Susac Syndrome.

Susac Syndrome is a relatively rare disorder characterised by three main problems: impaired brain function, partial or complete blockage of the small arteries and capillaries that supply blood to the retina, and inner ear disease.

Garrick is a father to 3 of the most beautiful kids I've ever met, his family means everything to him, and I'd love to relieve some of the stress Lily is feeling right now.

He's gone from a fully functioning family man, but now at 34 years old he's having to learn to feed himself. Nobody knows when he will recover, or what that recovery will look like.

If Garrick was himself right now, he'd probably be calling me an idiot for doing this and telling me he's fine, and that's exactly why I am doing it. He would do the same for me.

The Mackay family are the last people you would ever hear ask for anything. They would live on bread and water before accepting help, but I'm not going to let that happen.
