Garrett Young’s Hyperacusis Surgery

Hi my name is Garrett Young, and I have a rare hearing condition called hyperacusis. My hyperacusis has been growing steadily worse over the last few years, making day to day life increasingly difficult, especially when interacting with my 4 year old son. Typically, there is very little that can be done to treat hyperacusis; however, there is an facility in Sarasota, Florida, called the Silverstein Institute that offers a corrective surgery with a 70% success rate. The VA hospital has been difficult, to say the least, and very little of the costs are covered by insurance, so I’m trying any and all avenues to help raise money to pay for the surgery (+ travel/hotel) and get some parts of my life back. The procedure cost roughly 5-7 thousand per ear, but if I raise enough, and the surgery is successful, I may just do both ears. My family and I appreciate any help that you may be able to provide.
