Garrett William fights testicular cancer
Donation protected
As you all know, I'm Jodi, mother of Garrett William. In early October 2022, Garrett saw his primary care provider to take a look at a "lump in his testicle" that had been giving him discomfort for a number of years but had recently become progressively more painful. 6 weeks after having the lump removed, Garrett begins chemotherapy tomorrow for Stage 2 testicular cancer. His tumor was a non-seminomatous, mixed germ cell tumor, 90% embryonal carcinoma, 10% yolk sac tumor, an aggressive, rapidly metastasizing cancer that was also identified throughout his lymphatic fluid.
Garrett William and Carissa married on May 7, 2022. It was 5 months later that he saw his Primary Care Provider. At the age of 25, Garrett William works in the energy sector, as does Carissa. He does not accrue paid time off in his position. He was hopeful he could work throughout his chemo treatment but we're unsure that'll be possible to the full extent. Garrett William and Carissa are a young, newly married, two income household. Despite being insured and already having meet their deductible with all of the diagnostic tests and interventions so far, they face insurmountable financial obligations related to uncovered medical expenses and all associated expenses no one can prepare for. All of the monies collected will be used to alleviate the stress of financial hardships so that Garrett William can focus on treatment and healing without worrying.
