Garrett Miranda Scholarship for the Arts

Donation protected

Garrett is the son of Gary and Kathy Miranda. He had a passion for music at an early age. He started by learning the acoustic guitar, but never really caught on to the reading of music. That didn't stop him. He not only learned songs by ear, but also composed many songs. He loved a variety of genres, including Jazz, which he learned at Moreau Catholic High School with the Jazz Band. He then played rock and heavy metal. He played multiple instruments, including both the acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums. He recorded music with his band, other bands, and then made his own albums in which he plays multiple instruments in each song.

Garrett was born with high-functioning autism. He had a hard time fitting in and making it through school due to the social anxiety he encountered. He took that pain and made beautiful music. I can feel his soul in his music.

He died at the age of 25 on December 7, 2020 and we would very much like to set up an annual scholarship at the school I teach at in his name.

Your donation will be used for this annual scholarship for years to come. 100% of the money you donate will go directly to the recipient of the scholarship. I will send an update on the recipient in June of each year.

Thank you❤️
