Garrett Kaufmann Support Fund
Donation protected
I’m writing this on behalf of my brother-in-law, Garrett Kaufmann.
First I’d like to say thank you to every single person who has shown love, support and prayer already.
Garrett was critically injured working as a timber faller on Tuesday, October 27th. He sustained blunt force trauma to his frontal skull and facial bones resulting in multiple fractures, brain swelling, a brain bleed and brain damage to the frontal right side. He was life flighted to River Bend where he has already undergone a major surgery, removing parts of his skull, to help keep some relief from the swelling.
Highest hopes for Garrett are to reconstruct the parts of his skull that were injured, if the swelling and other factors begin to heal, and to have Garrett out of the hospital within the next couple weeks.
Once out of the hospital, Garrett will continue to heal and regain his strength mentally and physically, with possibilities of multiple surgeries in his future. This is going to be a very very long and tough road for him. I’m hoping with donations from all who love and support him, finances can be the least of his worries as he fights to regain as much of his normal life as possible. We are very unsure what “work” will look like for him in the future and it’s important for him not to have to worry.
The amount of strength he’s shown this far is a miracle on its own.
Garrett deserves nothing but the upmost love and support. He is one of the best, most kind humans and would be willing to give the same amount of love and support to anyone who needed it.
