Garrett Carr Needs to Go Back to School
Donation protected
Hi,
If you’re seeing this and you don’t me, my name is Garrett Carr. I am 33 years old. I’m disabled, neurodivergent, mentally ill, queer, and trans.
I’m trying to go back to school, so I can hopefully lift myself out of the financial situation I am currently in.
I was recently informed that my OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) application was denied. That was my last hope of being able to have the money to attend. Classes start in less than a month, and my tuition and fees have to be paid in full by September 15th.
I have exhausted all other avenues of funding.
I am on social assistance. I just got out of bankruptcy so have zero credit and therefore am unable to get a loan or line of credit from the bank. My family is just as poor as I am. There are no scholarships or bursaries for which I am eligible. I applied late to school. Because while I was in bankruptcy it didn’t seem like a possibility and my bankruptcy ended in July so all of Cambrian’s award/bursary applications are all closed.
I am desperate.
I’m asking for $6,000.00 because tuition and fees come to roughly $4,600.00, and that’s before books and other education related expenses (class materials and the like). (Also because I want to make sure there’s enough wiggle room for GoFundMe’s cut of the donations).
Please consider donating. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you’re able to provide.
Love and Magic.
