Garrett’s Journey

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Garrett Kaulbars. I want to explain what life has been like for me, in hopes that you live everyday as a blessing.  Some people are not as fortunate as others and don’t get a say in life, but when adversity hits, it gives you a whole new outlook on what matters in life.

My journey began in 2008 when I was 8 years old being diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. Fortunately, I was blessed to have a twin brother that was the perfect donor match for a bone marrow transplant which cured and saved my life. Everything God has put me through has allowed me to grow as a person and without it, I wouldn’t be who He intended for me to be.

In August of 2018 I was preparing to go to college and fulfilling my lifelong passion of being a division one athlete, when I was diagnosed with stage 4 Markle Cell Carcinoma at just 18 years old. I went through Chemo and radiation and I thought everything was under control. But, in August of 2019 they found a brain tumor that fortunately, was operable.  Thankfully God was looking out for me and I was able to have it removed with no brain damage.

In January of this year, the doctors told me that my cancer has progressed and without treatment, I may have 3 months.  I have chosen to do chemo in hopes of extending life so I can have more time with my girlfriend of three years, Autumn, and my family.  I am trying to squeeze a lifetime into three months. I am using your go fund me donations for medical expenses, adventure expenses, and  day to day bills. Thank you for the outpouring of love, prayers and donations.  It isn’t over. My faith in God is growing every day.
