Garret was born with a bicuspid aortic valve which led to him being diagnosed at a very young age with aortic stenosis.
We always knew surgery would be in his future, but we did not think it would be this soon.
About a month ago, an echocardiogram confirmed that he would need surgery in the near term. To our surprise, we had to admit him to the hospital early, on Dec 26, since he was experiencing shortness of breath and fatigue.
The doctors decided to expedite his surgery and on Dec 30th Garret received a new bicuspid aortic valve.
As many of you know, Garret runs his own business, Oak Origins Woodcraft out of our home, and he will not be able to work at this time. His recovery period will be anywhere from 2-4 months.
We are creating a go fund me and reaching out to our community of people for help. Since Garret is not able to work, and there are already many unforeseen medical expenses, if anyone is able to help us in this time, it will be greatly appreciated.
