Garmr's Emergency Vet Bills

Hi, Nicole and Kaleb here. Our sweet baby Garmr had a tragic accident tonight. As we were letting her and Sid out a glass milk jug got knocked over and shattered on our back steps. Garmr came down directly on a jagged piece of glass causing a very large deep cut. We rushed her directly to the ER where she is currently undergoing surgery. We will be hearing back from the vet first thing in the morning and are hopeful that she will be okay! Our current bill is over $2800 and coming here to help alleviate the cost.

Garmr's story: If you know Kaleb and I you know how much we love animals. We have 2 dogs, 4 cats, a rat, and a recuse chicken. We just finished our wildlife rehab classes and are volunteering with AWARE. At the end of the summer 2021 we heard about a group of two dogs and a few cats that were left behind by their previous owners in an empty apartment. Garmr was one of those dogs. We suspect she was previously abused as she had many scars, bites, and cuts that have since healed. She was also malnourished and pooping foam (we suspect she was eating furniture while left behind). We already had our male pittie, Sid, so we made arrangements to meet Garmr right away. It was love at first sight! Her and Sid got along so well on their first walk together and we knew she would fit right in. We took her home right away. We took her to our vet for a check up (thankfully a clean bill of health), got all her vaccines, and had her spayed. Shes silly, playful, and extremely loving despite all she's been through. She has become an integral part of our pack and we can't imagine our lives without her.
