Hello, Garfield a 15 month old beautiful ginger Tom who is dearly loved by his family, Sarah Uttridge and children near Long Stratton, you won’t believe his story!! But I promise you it’s true.

Garfield must of wandered off about 4 miles from home late one evening last week in Long Stratton. He was on the start of the new bypass and was found at midnight , looking like he was dead by a passing ambulance, the driver who had finished work decided to pull over and remove the cat out of the road.

This is the moment Garfield’s luck changed! As the paramedic picked up, the very injured boy, the blood in the injured cat’s mouth cleared and Garfield took a breath, still unconscious but fighting to live. This must mean it was pure luck the ambulance passed him at just the right moment, 4 minutes and he would have died, here on the quiet road and in the dark anything could have happened.

The paramedic took the injured cat to their own car then drove the brave determined fighter to an emergency vet at 1am, it was touch and go over night.

The next day Garfield’s family were found! Without hesitation they told the vet to do ‘wherever it takes to help him’ their love for this little life outweighed the fear of the bill. The paramedic who kept in touch with the family was so happy it brought her to tears!

Garfield has had 2 operations and fought with all his might to get back to his family, there are little children wanting to hold their cat and he should go home over the next few days. The bill has now ran into thousands..

It is going to be a long recovery, he will need nursing at home because his jaw is wired, but this wonderful family are in for life as they know he is part of their family and will do all it takes
