Gareth was someone who could walk into a room and instantly lift the mood. He had a quick wit, a mischievous sense of humour, and a natural ability to make people laugh even on their hardest days. Anyone who knew him will remember the warmth he carried and the way he made life feel a little lighter.

We were friends for more than 35 years, having met when we were just four years old. He was someone I grew up with, shared milestones with, and always felt lucky to call a friend. I want to honour him in a way that reflects who he was and what he loved.

Gareth had a deep connection to nature and the outdoors. When we were kids, we used to go on full day bike rides in the 6 weeks holidays, spend hours climbing trees and exploring Sheepwash Nature Reserve - the Denbigh backs!

He always said that when the time came, he wanted to be buried and to have a tree planted on his grave — a living tribute that would continue to grow, just as the memories of him will continue to grow in all of us. I’m raising funds to help cover his funeral costs and to make sure his wishes are fulfilled with the dignity and care he deserves.

He touched so many lives, and I know there are countless people who would want to help celebrate and remember him. My goal is to raise £500 to support these arrangements.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward giving Gareth the farewell he hoped for — one rooted in nature, love, and the legacy of a life that meant so much to so many.
