Hand-Finished Engravings to Raise Money to make my first Album!
I am raising money to record an album of songs that I have written over lockdown. Dad has made a beautiful engraving from one of my drawings and we will be selling the hand-made, limited edition prints to raise money.
20% of all proceeds will be going to MIND charity.

A Year of Changes, Big and Small:
The past year has been a bumpy ride for everyone. Things have changed immensely. I have spent 9 weeks indoors, 9 months furloughed, moved house twice, sat in the park for countless hours, been very anxious, very sad, very happy.. and also written an album.
Now that things are slightly more settled I plan to record these songs as a document of an extraordinary passage of time - one which has changed the world and also been what can only be described as a turning point for me personally.
Garden Mind:
During lockdown 1.0, Dad contacted me to say that he had been working away at turning one of my drawings he had found in my bedroom into an engraving. I was touched, and then stunned by the detail of the engraving and the amount of hours it must have taken him to hand carve hundreds of tiny lines and marks. Here is a picture of the copper plate:
I came up with the title 'Garden Mind'. I had been spending hours of the day on our tiny roof terrace, watching the gardens below unfurl into their summer glory in an endless series of tiny details...and the name came easily, as if the image was meant for this exact time.
Out of London:
By July we had handed in our notice at our little flat and decided to move back in with my parents in Devon - coincidentally just in time to help Dad cut back the enormous jungle of Clematis swamping the bottom half of the garden... We proofed the print and he worked away at it some more until we were happy with the result.
I should mention that at this point our joint printing adventure got slightly waylaid by the building of this shed...
And in the end:
We weren't entirely sure what to do with our first collaborative project, until Dad came up with the idea to sell the prints to raise money to be able to get into the studio and record an album - my first ever album! A very exciting prospect.
So here we are. Here are the beautiful prints, a hand-made collaboration and a product of some strange, difficult, unique & wonderful times, courtesy of the pandemic. 20% of all proceeds will go to MIND charity.
