Garden, green space for handicapped children

My name is Steven and I am School Psychologist working at a special education school for children with significant handicapping conditions. Most of the children have physical, intellectual and social delays that require much support. I wanted to create a special place designed just for them to enjoy!

I was able to create a school garden/green space that is designed as a sensory/therapeutic oasis that was designed to allow access for these children who require wheelchairs and walkers for mobility. These children love coming to the garden to experience a wide range of uplifting sensory experiences.

Now that most of the garden has been completed, we need your help to keep the space accessible to their wheelchairs and walkers. We need more decomposed granite to provide a solid ground base to give access to the wheelchairs and walkers. We also need to hire a plumber to make sure the irrigation system keeps working during the hot summer months and to repair a leak that has caused some flooding. We also need more exotic plants and fertilizer to keep the garden full of life and beauty. These kids deserve the best that we can offer!
