My Eagle Scout Project is focused on giving back to Douglas MacArthur, the school I attended, by building six large garden beds for the Project Lead The Way class. These 8’ by 4’ beds will provide students with hands-on experience in environmental science, allowing them to learn about gardening, sustainability, and teamwork in a practical setting. The gardens will also help improve the school grounds, creating a welcoming space for everyone who visits or attends Douglas MacArthur.

I’ll be working alongside other scouts in my troop, and together we’ll be gathering materials like soil, concrete, lumber, nails, and other supplies to make this project a reality. We plan to start and finish the build in September, so the impact will be immediate for the students and teachers. The garden beds will be used for a unit about the environment, giving students a unique opportunity to connect classroom lessons with real-world experiences.

This project means a lot to me because Douglas MacArthur played an important role in my life, and I want to help current and future students have the same positive experiences I did.
