My mom was diagnosed with scleroderma at 20, a rare autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack its own connective tissue. One of the many ways this disease affects her is by progressively shrinking and tightening the tissues in her mouth, making it increasingly difficult to eat, speak, and maintain oral health.

Because of this, she now needs medical treatment, and timing is critical. As her condition progresses, her mouth opening will continue to decrease, making future dental procedures far more complex and risky. It’s essential that this surgery is done as soon as possible and by a highly experienced surgeon who understands both scleroderma and the complications it brings.

Unfortunately, the cost of this specialized care is overwhelming and not covered by insurance. We’re raising funds to help cover her dental implants, surgical care, and related medical expenses so she can preserve her quality of life, comfort, and ability to eat and speak without pain.
