On April 10th, Michael Gannon went into Cardiac arrest, coupled with 3 strokes at the time. He has sustained significant damage from the whole ordeal. On top of that, during the struggle to revive him, which was a job they had their hands full with, he sustained more injuries including broken ribs and a punctured lung. It’s needless to say that his road to recovery will be a long and difficult one and will incur a phenomenal amount of financial burden! Unfortunately, society and the systems in place are not set up to cover all these unforeseen and seen costs. Although we are positive and confident that our Michael will fight his way back and get back to a place where he can be happy, healthy and living a fulfilled life. We are under no misconception of hurdles he will have to jump and the difficulties he will have to endure, including medical and financial. We are also aware that he will be dealing with these issues for a long time to come! We ask for your compassion and generosity for Michael during the long journey he has ahead. We would like to say how very grateful for the EMT’s that worked so hard to keep him with us! Without them he would not be with us now, over five weeks later, currently on our 37th day. He was 3 weeks on a ventilator and non responsive and has since had a tracheostomy and a PEG tube inserted. Our Michael, with the grace of god, thankfully, woke up shortly after these procedures. His wonderful friends and family have suggested about making this page & asked how they can help. We were reluctant at first, but came to the realization, through much deliberation of the conversations we’ve been having with friends, family, medical staff and even more so about the long road to wellness, that it is a necessity. Due to the Pandemic there is no visitation and only as much communication that the hospital can spare. Michael is such a caring; funny, social person that adds to every situation that he is part of. Always encouraging and kind, always there for the underdog evrerytime, without thought. We think the least we can do is show him the same respect and love he show's everyone he crosses paths with. Unfortunately the Gannon family has been through a very lot in the past dealing with the loss of Michael Gannon (his father) at the age of 44   Johnny Gannon  (his brother) at the age of 39 both from heart attacks  .
We can't say enough of how much we appreciate all the EMT's , DOCTOR's ,  NURSE's , CNA,s  friends, family and all staff that has contributed to his well being .
