BTD Gamers Gambia is a proud extension of the BTD Gamers brand, created specifically to support and elevate gamers in The Gambia.
What began as a simple idea has quickly grown into a powerful movement.
After spending eight weeks in The Gambia, our founder, Dexter Simms, witnessed first-hand the passion, talent, and hunger for opportunity within the local gaming community. Determined to create real pathways, he organised and delivered two highly successful FC 25 tournaments in partnership with local arcade The UFO Gaming Arcade.
These first events welcomed 106 gamers and community members, marking the beginning of something special. Since then, the community has continued to grow, with 162 active members now part of the BTD Gamers Gambia network.
From these tournaments, five standout players were selected and signed into the official BTD Gamers Affiliate Program—a major milestone not only for the players themselves, but for competitive gaming in The Gambia as a whole.
Momentum continued when the team entered the Africell Trade Fair Tournament, one of the country’s most prestigious competitions. The results were incredible: 1st place and 3rd place, winning 100,000 Dalasi and 25,000 Dalasi respectively. These achievements brought national attention to the talent emerging from the Gambian gaming scene.
As a result of this success, interest from local businesses and educational institutions has grown rapidly, leading to an exciting new chapter. In December 2025, Black Tech Day Gambia hosted its first official event, creating a larger platform for gaming, technology, and youth development. The event included:
- Insightful panel discussions
- Live gaming tournaments
- Keynote speakers
- Community engagement activities
- Career and educational opportunities for young people
BTD Gamers Gambia exists to create opportunity—to give local gamers the tools, space, and support they need to grow, compete, and connect with global gaming and tech networks.

The funds raised will go directly toward building a dedicated gaming hub in The Gambia. This hub will support:
- Esports player development
- Content creators and streamers
- Training, mentorship, and employment opportunities
