GameBoarders: The Anti-Board Game!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dhanushka and I'm the founder of Simultane Games! (it's not really a business yet, I'm the only one and I want to have a fancy developer name to make board games under)
Over the past year, I've been developing and playtesting a small card game. The game is called GameBoarders: The Anti-Board Game! (or GameBoarders for short) and it's a game centred around board game satire!
I've been playing board games with friends for many years, and my experience with board games, and all the frustrations that come with it, inspired me to make a game themed around the annoying nuances that come with playing board games!
However, I am a regular person without a dollar to my name, nor do I have the patience to pitch this to a publisher and then wait the two-year process to get it published. So, I'm looking to publish the game myself!
In order to publish the game, I'm going to need to purchase some equipment, like a card cutting machine for the cards and game box, a 3D printer for the tokens, as well and some extra cash to hire a graphic designer to get some artwork for the game!
However, I'm also looking at contacting board game printing websites to see what they can do for me. Costs for ordering a set can total more than printing at home, but it'll eliminate excess time taken to hand package orders.
Currently I'm looking to raise $5,000 for the equipment/printing costs, but I also want to address an ongoing issue currently happening here in Australia...
In November of 2024, Australia reported that over 90 women lost their lives to senseless acts of violence perpetrated by men. This is unacceptable.

This epidemic needs to stop. But what can we do?
The answer lies in education and therapy. Rather than treating the symptoms with extra security & police or stricter penalties, I want to focus efforts towards steering men away from violent behaviour through early education as well as therapeutical options to address psychological conditions that cause aggressive behaviour. I am hoping to use the release of GameBoarders to raise money for White Ribbon Australia, a charity that seeks to stop men's violence against women. For every dollar over the goal amount of $5,000, I will be donating to White Ribbon Australia.
Australians shouldn't have to live in fear. We should feel safe and be able to roam our local community freely. And hopefully every now and then enjoy a game of GameBoarders.
