Hi friends, family, and anyone who stumbles in here.

At 40, I never thought I’d be starting over like this… and definitely not asking for help. But honestly—I’m exhausted, tapped out, and out of spell slots (options).

Here’s the short version
The state had to step in and remove me from my home after my domestic partnership collapsed—not just because of the strain my health conditions put on the relationship, but because what began as a medical and environmental neglect investigation opened a whole new level of boss fight bullshit my body/mind just does not have the constitution to fight anymore. For the sake of privacy and both our journeys moving on, that’s all I’ll say on the subject.

The fallout though, left me mentally, physically, financially, and emotionally wrecked—which is brutal when you’re already managing flaring Mast-Cell Activation Syndrome and PTSD (made worse after my hysterectomy in fall 2024). While I was finally approved for SSDI this spring (hallelujah!) after five long years, I’m still waiting on back-pay and scrambling to cover both old and new bills as I rebuild my life from the ground up.

Right now, I need help with moving costs, daily living expenses, personal care assistance, and medical bills just to stay afloat while I piece my life back together.

What I’m Facing Next
The next few years will be a marathon of survival, healing, and medical mayhem:

  • EMDR Therapy to help my nervous system recover from C-PTSD (medical trauma, narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault)
  • Lower Back Surgery Evaluation for Tethered Cord Syndrome (In Rhode Island)
  • $1k Out-Of-Pocket Cervical Spine Evaluation for instability and possible Chiari Malformation (In New York)
  • Out-of-Pocket Physical Therapy for at least two years to undo decades of pelvic floor trauma, knots, and surgical neglect—so I can work toward walking on my own again
  • $500-$1000 a month in meds to manage pain, allergies, and the joys of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).
  • Covering the many curveballs Ehlers-Danlos throws my way while more doctors stop taking insurance
  • Stretch Goal: Genetic testing to identify what type of EDS I actually have

Basically, my body is playing medical roulette—and every spin costs money.

Why I’m Asking for Help
I know the cavalry should eventually (hopefully) arrive in the form of Medicare, Medicaid, and state programs—but until then, I’m stuck in the gap. And when you’re out of work, unable to drive, and some days can’t even get out of bed, “just hang in there,” “try yoga,” “clean eating,” or “getting over it” doesn’t exactly pay the bills.

But here’s the thing—you all know me. I’m too stubborn to let this be the level to take me down: I’ll keep cracking jokes through the pain, throwing shade at the medical system, and somehow still moving forward (even if it’s with my walker). And I’ll keep documenting the journey, because I know others out there are also fighting to “save themselves” from skeptical doctors and self-involved support systems.

How You Can Help
Whatever you can spare—whether it’s the cost of a coffee, a birthday gift, a Christmas stocking stuffer, or just the yearly donation your tax guy “claims” for deductions (obvious tax humor)—will go directly to helping me cover:

  • Emergency moving & restart costs
  • Medical equipment & ADA household modifications
  • Daily living expenses & housing
  • Personal care wages to pay my attendant
  • Medical treatments and medications
  • General funds to train and keep King (emotional support dog)

What Am I Contributing?
You know me, I don’t plan on just sitting here twiddling my useless thumbs. I’m also applying for grants and selling off what I can, but my nerve-pain hands and floppy neck limit how much time I can spend on a phone or computer. Right now, most of my energy goes toward finding new doctors, chasing down SSDI, and trying to unpack. Selling my belongings will come, but slowly.

Last Few Words
I’m not asking for pity—I’m asking for a little support while I rebuild and figure this all out. Because this leaning Tower of Pisa is starting to topple on her own.

Please donate, share, or even just comment so this plea for help can reach more eyes.

From the bottom of my rusting, chaotic, loud-mouth rabbit heart: thank you.
