Supporting the Gambles

After years of serving others, Bob and Merriellen need our support. Only two short weeks ago, Bob began having difficulty breathing and thought he had pneumonia. After a barrage of tests and an agonizing wait to hear the results, the Gambles were informed Bob has end stage pancreatic cancer which has metastasized throughout his body and organs. He has entered Hospice Care and Merriellen is only working sporadically so she may be home to care for Bob and spend as much time left as possible with him.

After a great amount of prayer, the Gambles have decided to leave Raleigh, NC and move to Fort Walton Beach, Florida near family and the ocean (one of Bob's favorite places on earth). They are able to continue Hospice there and have a plan in place to stay in an Extended Stay America hotel near the medical complex until Bob goes Home to the Lord where he will be whole and healed again.

Due to past diagnosis, the Gambles have zero life insurance. They have to pay 20% of Bob's mounting medical bills that Medicare does not cover. Merriellen is paid hourly so they have been mostly without income over the past two weeks and will go without a paycheck during this move and until Bob no longer needs end of life care. Merriellen will also need assistance with funeral home costs and daily expenses while she begins anew in Florida.

I am devastated and heartbroken for this couple who are like family to me but I am glad Go Fund Me offers a way I can help from so far away.
