Gallop Forward: Fund Equestrian Education for Youth

At Gallop Forward Foundation, we give kids in Jilotepec, Mexico the opportunity to learn horsemanship, build confidence, and gain real-world skills through weekly riding lessons at Rancho Saex. With expert mentorship and hands-on training, our students form a deep connection with their horses while also learning how to find careers in the equestrian world—but we need your help to keep this going.

This project began when we saw a gap—teenagers in rural Mexico often have few options for meaningful, positive work that aligns with their culture and identity. Traditional horsemanship and ranching are deeply rooted here, but access to training, mentorship, and opportunities is limited. We started Gallop Forward Foundation to change that—to offer young people a path that builds both practical skills and pride in who they are.

We’re raising $7,000 USD to help sustain the program. That includes weekly group lessons for our students, care for the horses, equipment like saddles, helmets, and grooming tools, and the transportation and coordination it takes to keep the program running each week. Every donation, big or small, directly helps us cover these essential costs and makes sure no student is turned away because of financial reasons.

As we grow, we also want to invest in our trainers. We’re working to provide them with additional training in horsemanship and youth development through Think Like a Pony, a UK-based charity known for its trauma-informed approach and deep emphasis on connection, communication, and trust between horses and children. This training will directly improve the quality of our program and help us offer even more to our students.
