In a whirlwind of opportunity and freak happenstance, we have realized the anchor point of Frame of Mind is holding us back while amazing opportunities have presented themselves (theTRAC in South Carolina and Gallery 731 in Ohio, amongst others) that will allow us to stretch our influence across state borders. Thus, FoM is passing the torch on our brick-and-mortar in order to better serve the arts in an overarching, national, community-driven, art space. We are excited to continue serving South Carolina, while also serving Ohio. In this, we want you to know we are not leaving, we are expanding. And no matter where we are, we are taking you, the artists, the arts, the community, with us. We are moving forward, taking the leap, and making this happen because our love of the arts and our community is paramount.
Through partnering with theTRAC Gallery & Studios, we not only leave the managing of our South Carolina brick-and-mortar in their capable hands, we’re able to expand our offerings toward an artist-driven space. TheTRAC will have studios for rent, a gallery featuring an incredible mix of local and national artists, a wide range of classes and workshops, and an event/maker space for rent. In short, something for everyone!
Under the new umbrella of Gallery 731 we will be setting up a studio and gallery in Ohio to offer artists we know and love in South Carolina, and beyond, the opportunity to show their work out-of-state, and eventually, to do a roving, rotating gallery to show their work to new audiences all over the country. It will also give us space to truly dig into our tangible arts under the Cult of Eyewear line.
The Cult of Eyewear will continue to bring out the art in eyewear as we did for 12 years with Frame of Mind. Our unique, high-quality line of eyewear accessories you know and love are still available via wholesale while the eyewear will be accessible through our mobile service and on the web. Because of Gallery 731, we can bring you a wider array of our upfit cigar boxes, eyewear cleaner, slip-in cases and more. And you’ll still see us at local artisan markets!
Plessinger Productions (P2) will continue producing the amazing events you live for in South Carolina and will be branching out into Ohio. P2 will also be working as a consultant with communities and small municipalities, to further showcase the importance of the arts by building cultural tourism programs in rebuilding communities.
To sum this all up, we are excited to be maintaining a presence in Columbia through our partnership with theTRAC, while establishing a presence in Dayton with Gallery 731. The eyewear side will be shifted to a mobile & online presence while being folded into the Cult of Eyewear (which will be growing with the addition of studio space for creation of our eyewear accessories). The event side of FoM is shifting to P Squared where we will continue producing events that you live for and consulting with small communities & artists to create cultural tourism programs that are mutually beneficial.
After over a decade of serving our community, we are ballooning outward to encompass these new opportunities. But we need your help, we need to raise $10,000 to make this all come to fruition. There are so many things that go into this ask: build out expenses, website and branding, marketing, transportation costs, security deposit/first month’s rent of Gallery 731, and all the small things too numerous to list here. We ask that you join us on this journey, supporting us by sharing the campaign to the four winds and contributing what you can, every bit of help counts! Thank you in advance and we love you Guys!!!
