Fire Destroys Family Home:   Your help is needed immediately, anything will help.  At around  9:00 pm July 6th, 2020 a fire broke out at the home of a close friend and coworker.  The Summerville, SC home  fire engulfed the back half of the home and was quickly spreading.  Robert, his wife, daughter, granddaughter and mother in-law were all at home when the fire started.  The fire started on the back porch area and was not immediately detected.  Once the smoke smell lingered into the home, the family quickly assisted Robert's elderly mother in-law out of the house and to safety at a neighbors home.

Robert and his family also quickly rescued the family's pets,  two pugs,  some birds and their Bearded Dragon, Mango.   Then Robert turned his attention to the fire itself.  Using a garden hose, he was able to knock the fire down, so he thought.  Soon the fire department arrived and discovered more fire in the walls and the attic and began the destructive task of cutting holes through the roof, pulling down dry wall and dousing everything in sight with water.   In Robert's words, "I've lost everything , my family has lost everything, but at least we are all safe.

While the home has insurance, there are many expenses, temporary housing, clothing, groceries, pet food, lost wages for a few days and I'm sure some that will not be realized for days to come.  Also of course, one of the big ones, the insurance deductible are some of the expected and unexpected expenses that will be very difficult for Robert's family to cover. Any and all help that you can give to help try to bring this family back to normal will be greatly appreciated.

The fire fighting professionals on the site stated that it looked like the fire started in the attic and was an electrical fire.  This was only the initial findings and more may be learned as the days unfold.  While they have friends and family that are helping with the pets , the Gallardo family are effectively homeless and in need of your help.   The expenses have started immediately with hotel rooms and shopping for groceries and other necessities.

Robert and his wife Tonya, both work full time jobs; Robert a maintenance technician for an animal sanctuary and Tonya a convenient store associate. Together they scrape by each week to do their best to support Tonya's elderly mother and their 12 year old daughter.   With the current Covid19 issues effecting many, Tonya's hours have been cut with the shorter business hours of the store.

Every single dollar will help, there is no donation that is too small, please help with what you can.
