Cancer Takes Father, Tornado Takes Home

UPDATE: We cannot express to you how thankful we are for all the support that you have shown us through this journey. Our hearts are breaking tonight as we had to say our goodbyes to this beautiful life. Today, June 4th @ 5:31pm, Galin has officially left his broken body and is in fellowship with his Creator. His powerful hands, gentle heart, and big smile touched so many of us. After almost a year battling this cancer, none of us can remember a word of complaint. Instead he just spoke of this moment as gain. His neighbor of 10 years, with tears in his eyes said “I want to be like that man!” Please keep Galin’s family in your prayers as funeral planning, home searching for his family after the tornado, and wedding preparations for his daughter are all under way. He is survived by his beautiful bride Charla, oldest son Matt and wife Jerusha, daughter Brittany, daughter Kayla, adopted daughter Lilly, and newly adopted son Jaxson.


.........ORIGINAL POST: Few things can get him down, and his strength he uses to help others. He’s taught me how to roof a house, treat my lady, and more recently how to keep a cheerful spirit in the middle of the storms of life. Last fall he was diagnosed with an aggressive Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, early this spring he adopted a young boy into his beautiful family, two weeks ago his daughter became engaged, and tonight his home was ravaged by a strong tornado. The direct hit left his home a total loss. Please consider the trauma these two storms have left in Galin Campbell’s family and donate some spare change to be a helping hand on his way to restoration. Thanks!!

..........Here is a text message sent by my Uncle Galin to the family last night:
”We just had a little prayer / thanksgiving meeting in this camper. We have decided from now on as long as we live, April 30th is going to be a sort of "Passover" for this little Campbell family, that we will celebrate in a significant way each year. We plan to celebrate and have our own little feast of thanksgiving for the way God "passed over" our house and spared each one of us from death or even injury! God truly is good!”
