Galexie is a 2 year old baby girl who was born with congenital heart defect, also known as CHD. While Galexie's type of CHD is common, her specific form is not. She has numerous ventricular septal defects, also known as "swiss cheese" heart.

She initially had heart surgery to place a PA band at three weeks old. This surgery has gotten her though the past two years. She is now old enough to have open heart surgery, which will permanently repair her heart.

Galexie will be in the hospital at UC Davis for 1-3 weeks with the big surgery scheduled for July 17th. The doctors estimate her recovery time to be around 6 weeks. Galexie's parents (Karlie and Cameron) will be staying down there the entire time.
