Our parents, Galen and Sheryl Gabel, were defrauded on 12/19/18.  My Mom googled Amazon, and called to inquire about a return she had made. Unfortunately, she never received a refund for the incorrect water filter for their refrigerator that was appropriately returned.

During this phone call, the receiving party had my mom’s Amazon invoice and asked her to open her online banking to see if she had received her refund.  Shortly after her banking was opened, she noticed her cursor was moving around her computer screen.

Unfortunately, the receiving party now had access to my parents online banking.  They proceeded to transfer $ from their savings accounts to their checking and eventually wire transferred $100,000 to Coinbase, inc. to fraudulently purchase bitcoin under my mom’s name.

We have been diligently working with the local authorities, the Secret Service, the FBI, the Federal Trade Commission, and Chase Bank.

The worst part is, the majority of the $ was for my parents Medicare Set-aside funds that are earmarked for both of their work related ailments.

We are doing everything that we can on our end.  However, Chase Bank is playing hardball and is fighting us on the return of their $.

It is looking like we will have to file a lawsuit against Chase Bank in order to attempt to remedy this situation.

As we can all imagine, this is akin to David vs Goliath.

My parents are always the first to help a friend or family member in need and are the last to ever ask for help.
