GALDEF Celebrates L.A. Pride – June 11, 2023

This will be GALDEF ’s (Genital Autonomy Legal Defense and Education Fund) first major public education event. This educational outreach will take place in Hollywood and will be staffed by Tim who will make the 2 hour drive from Palm Springs. He will be joined by Eric Clopper and his boss Brad Kane of Kane Law, both of whom live in Los Angeles.
There are many significant advantages to GALDEF’s presence at this event, especially since there is no known organized intactivist presence at this Pride event in the nation’s second largest city. Other advantages to GALDEF's presence include:
- Tens of thousands of people attend this huge event, not just from L.A., but all over California and the U.S., as well as internationally.
- L.A. Pride attracts a very diverse crowd of activists, who could become potential subscribers, volunteers and donors.
- The media covers this event widely, so it could generate coverage for us if journalists happen to stop by our booth.
- Los Angeles, and Hollywood specifically, is the heart of the entertainment industry of the U.S. and the world. TV and film producers and other industry workers could encounter our message about bodily integrity and genital integrity for all children and be encouraged to incorporate these themes into mendia productions that can influence the entire country and the world.
The funds will help pay for
- A 10x10 space rental
- One 2.5ft. x 10ft. horizontal banner
- One 33” x 81” standing vertical retractable banner
- Tip box
- One 6ft table cover
- Transportation
- Water and food provisions for three volunteers for an 8 hour shift
Any leftover funds will be appointed for the organization's operational purposes. The funds are needed by June 8.
