Gainey Ranch Golf Club Charities Inc
FUNDRAISER TO ADD GRGC EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE FUND
DONATIONS TO APPLY TO 2019 ARIZONA CHARITABLE TAX CREDIT
Gainey Ranch Golf Club Charities Inc., successor to the GRGC Mens Golf Association Charities Inc., is adding a GRGC Employee Assistance fund to its designated causes it is supporting. The coronavirus epidemic has caused a significant disruption to the operations of the Club. A majority of our Food and Beverage staff has been furloughed and the remaining staff is experiencing a significant loss of income due to restrictions imposed by government, concern for health and common sense. More furloughs may be in the future depending on future developments.
Given the Charities’ designation as a Qualified Arizona Charitable Organization, all donations made prior to April 15, 2020 will be able to be claimed on the 2019 Arizona tax returns for a dollar-for-dollar credit up to $400 per individual and $800 per couple. (Any contributions to other qualified charities would be off-set from this credit.) Obviously a contribution during 2020 will also be eligible for consideration in the 2020 tax returns if the limit for 2019 has already been reached. These contributions may also be deductible from Federal tax returns based upon your individual circumstances. The Charity is a IRS Section 501 (c) (3) organization.
It is our plan to work with GRGC management to determine the individual needs of our staff during this challenging time. We will be flexible based on the length and severity of these employment disruptions. Obviously benefits from Unemployment Compensation and benefits continuing to be provided by ClubCorp will be considered in making subsistence support to our staff.
For those members that have not fully used their 2019 tax credit, this is an opportunity to add to this fund at no cost to you – let the State of Arizona help to provide this additional support to our employees!
The Charity will continue to review and support other charitable causes throughout the year. It will continue to operate under the requirements of the Arizona guidelines for having beneficiaries with qualifying needs. We will be soliciting for recommendations for other such needy causes throughout the year as was done in previous years.
The Charity has been a free-standing entity since 2004. It is not affiliated in any way with ClubCorp; it is managed by the GRGC members and will remain that way. We are talking with GRGC management on a joint fund-raising event for mutually agreed causes – this is now tentatively planned for October.
If you wish to contribute, please mail your checks to Gainey Ranch Golf Club at 7600 E Gainey Club Dr, Scottsdale, AZ 85258. We will provide receipts that will be used in the filing for your Arizona and/or Federal tax returns.
Any questions can be addressed to Mike Miller, GRGC Charity Coordinator at [email redacted]
