Hi, My name is Betsy and I want you to help me raise money for Gail M. to get a car so she can continue her incredible volunteer work in our county! Gail was in a car accident last week in San Rafael. She luckily survived with cuts and bruises and a few stitches after being pulled from her beloved 20 year old VW Beetle by paramedics. But she now is without a car as it was not only totaled but caught on fire too!

Let me tell you her story. I met Gail about 40 years ago at work. She was a social worker at the Redwood Retirement Community in Mill Valley for many years helping frail elders to independent elders live their best lives. She also worked at Smith Ranch PostAcute in San Rafael. When she retired, Gail continued to reach out to her community and help in any way possible. For example, she currently volunteers at Wild Care, China Camp State Park, Rotary food distribution program and more. Over the last 8-10 years, she welcomed my College of Marin Exercise Class to "summer camp" at her retirement setting in Lucas Valley. Always looking out for those around her. In addition to her volunteer efforts, Gail is always making us laugh out loud with her humor and quick wit in good and bad times for sure!

So my goal is to spread the word to those many circles of friends and communities about her current need for a car. Her 20 -year -old VW bug looked pristine and took her everywhere. She needs another forever car. Can you help us in this effort to keep Gail traveling around the county and doing her good work? It is people like her who make our communities ever so special!
