Surgery for Rufus
Hi everyone,
My name is Emma and this is sweet Rufus. He is a 4 year old Blue Staffy and the most loving and loyal one at that.
In December last year, my partner Zac and I adopted him and that was the day our lives and Rufus’s life changed forever. But unfortunately he has recently been diagnosed with a mast cell tumour on his paw that has also spread to his lymph node. We seeked advice from our local communities via social media on where to go from here and decided to head down the path of treatment options. We have also received the best possible outcome from an oncologist who has recommended surgery and potentially a few months of chemotherapy medications.
Zac and I are feeling very hopeful that with this treatment Rufus may get to live a longer life with us. We are confronted though with the extraordinary surgery and medication costs that will reach at least $5,000, with the potential for ongoing treatment costs.
We want to do absolutely everything we can to ensure the best quality of life for our baby and provide him with a fighting chance. We are kindly asking for your help, even the smallest amount will most certainly go a long way. We could not possibly imagine our lives without him and do not want to give up on him.
If you would like to help us support his medical needs then we are asking for your generosity. Everyone that helps us to raise any amount of money, I will be more than happy to provide you personally regular updates of his journey. Thank you so much from my little family to yours.
