Our son Gael was born with a congenital heart defect. He suffers from two conditions - Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF - Which is really four total conditions in itself) & Pulmonary Atresia. There is no cure but, with surgeries & treatment, they can keep our son alive way into adulthood.

These past 8 years have been a roller-coaster of emotions for us.  He has had 4 surgeries so far and surgery number 5 is coming this September, 2020.  He has undergone tests, treatments, and has been poked and proded for 8 years.  He has gone under anesthetics 15 times in the past 8 years.  However, he is a real Warrior & inspires us to stay positive & try to become not only better parents, but people as a whole.  Although Gael's doctors have done an amazing job thus far, its going to be a long journey full of doctor visits, hospitals, surgeries & tests.

My wife and I are both employed but unfortunately, not all bills & expenses have been covered by our health insurance. We have downsized homes 5 times in the last 8 years to try and compensate and we have further made lifestyle adjustments but, the costs of medical care, surgeries, treatments, and tests (and further future costs) have brought us here.
