Baby Gabriel was born on October 15, 2022. What the hospital initially thought were underdeveloped lungs ended up being a genetic lung disease that requires a full lung transplant. He has been on a ventilator since the day he was born. It has been heartbreaking to not be able to hold your baby and to see him struggling for every breath. He has been transported from Virginia to Children's Hospital in St. Louis. St. Louis Children's Hospital is a leading facility for pediatric lung transplants. In the process, his mom and dad have had their world turned upside down. They also have a 3-year-old toddler who they are caring for as well. They have been trying to commute back and forth, and mom has been staying with Gabriel in St. Louis the majority of the time. One of the requirements of the hospital are that they stay in St. Louis for the first 3-4 months. This means they will have to uproot their lives and jobs for Gabriel's procedure. All the commuting, the stress, and living expenses are overwhelming to balance. We are trying to help them in any way possible. As well as this being an emotionally painful time as a parent, financial worries are also looming. We are trying to raise enough money for this family to be able to be with their baby in St. Louis and be able to receive the GIFT OF LIFE. Every little bit will help and is appreciated. Thank you!
