Our son Gabriel was diagnosed with tetralogy of fallot. A rare heart disease. Because of preeclampsia we had to induce at 37 weeks. We were hoping that he would be allowed to grow for a few months to increase the success of the surgery. But after a few weeks his O2 stats started to fall into the 50%-60% range and surgery could not be postponed any longer. At just 4 weeks old, Gabriel endured a grueling eight hour open heart surgery. Within hours after the surgery he was placed on an Ecmo machine and on the path to recovery. Although his heart has been repaired and his kidneys are on the mend, he has an issue the doctors haven’t been able to fix. He is dumping lymphatic cells into his chest cavity and the doctors can’t stop it. After 2 months, nearly 6 weeks of NPO (no feedings due to his condition), he still only weighs 7lbs. The doctors have discussed with us the possibility of having to fly him to Philadelphia, one of the best children’s lymphatic hospitals in the world. But at the moment we are still on the waiting list. With being out of work to be with him at the hospital, doctor bills are already coming in and are becoming overwhelming. People have been wanting to help so we thought we would create this page as an easy anonymous option if people wanted to donate to help us with his medical expenses. More than anything we need prayers for our sweet baby boys full recovery.
