On Wednesday, November 28, 2018, Gabrielle Pontello, a single mother of four and an individual who holds one full time and one part time job to make ends meet, suffered a brain aneurysm as a result of high blood pressure. Fortunately, Gabrielle was at work when this aneurysm occurred and was rushed to a local hospital in Hickory, NC where she was quickly air lifted to Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Gabrielle remained at Baptist until Saturday, December 8, 2018 receiving treatment. In approximately six weeks Gabrielle will have to return to Baptist for a procedure to place a stent in her brain where the aneurysm occurred.
Gabrielle has worked her entire life and selflessly given to others when able. Unfortunately, Gabrielle's two jobs, both of which are working in the kitchen at assisted living homes, do not provide enough extra income for her to afford health insurance on top of her monthly living expenses. Due to no health insurance Gabrielle has not been able to afford the needed treatment for her blood pressure that led to the aneurysm. Gabrielle and her family are under tremendous stress from this incident and are seeking assistance in covering Gabrielle's basic month to month expenditures, as Gabrielle will be out of work for an extended period of time. Gabrielle is not an individual who wants/expects anything from anyone and, as stated above, gives herself freely in helping others, especially her family. She is an incredibly hard working woman who often goes weeks without a full day off. Asking for any sort of assistance makes Gabrielle extremely uncomfortable, but I am asking, only if you are able, to consider helping Gabrielle and her family during this trying time. Gabrielle's monthly expenses on top of the incoming medical expenses is too much for Gabrielle and her family to cover alone. Gabrielle and her family's main focus needs to be on Gabrielle making a full recovery.
Please consider donating to Gabrielle and her family, again only if you're able. Gabrielle has raised four children and has worked every day of her life to provide for them and herself. It's an incredibly unfortunate situation when a person who works 50+ hours a week and gives so freely of themselves cannot afford basic healthcare. All donations will go directly to Gabrielle's monthly expenditures and medical costs due to this aneurysm. Please help me in making this Christmas season a little less difficult for this hard working woman and family so they can truly focus on what's important: Gabrielle's recovery.
